Your Freedom is Yours

Nobody can give it to you or take it away.

Nobody can give it to you or take it away. They can suppress it, they can obstruct it, they can restrain it, but they cannot take it away. Only you can give it away, surrender it, renounce it.

You give away your freedom by suppressing yourself, by doing what deep inside you feel is not right, something you do not want to do, you will sense it.

As such, nobody can give it back to you. It does not belong to you.

I remember reading a letter of an American marine that he wrote from prison after refusing to go back to Iraq for the 3rd time. After coming back for the first time, he no longer believed it was the right thing to do and did not want to go back there, but he gave in to the pressure, to the fear of going to prison, being judged as a coward and so on.

After coming back for the first time, he no longer believed it was the right thing to do and did not want to go back there, but he gave in to the pressure, to the fear of going to prison, being judged as a coward and so on. The next time he was told to go, he stayed true to himself; he refused to go back and ended up in prison. I never forget the last words in his letter. “It is strange, I am sitting here, writing a letter from a prison cell, but never in my life I have felt so free.

Freedom is a sense of internal peace. It is a mindset, listening to your conscience, to your most inner voice. Even if you are physically constrained like the marine, you can still be free.

We need to honour our inner, emotional, spiritual selves. We cannot deny its existence. We all feel it, especially in the time we feel fully alive.

Such moments can be expressed as being one with God.

Talking about God, we say she is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscience. If this is true, then God is within everyone and everything; it is within you. Listen to your inner voice expressed by emotions, sensations, and feelings. This is how your God is communicating with you.

Let’s think about the first commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”.

If God is everywhere, so within you as well, following orders against your conscience (your inner voice of God)  is putting the ones giving orders before God.

By surrendering our freedom, our free will, giving someone authority over ourselves (and the God within us), we are putting them before God.

Old recorded wisdom included in Judaism, Christianity, Islam warns us about such behaviours.

New Story – Old Story

We are all Connected we are All One

I keep on hearing about a New story; a story of oneness, a story of interconnectedness, of inter-being as Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh nicely puts it.

The old story is supposed to be a “story of separation”, but I always seen, felt that everything is connected. When something is obvious to you it is hard to explain why.  It feels like trying to explain to someone who is colour-blind why this is red and this is green.  It is obvious for me that they are different, but it is equally obvious that they are the same for colour blind person (well I assume this based on their reaction

Well I will give it my best shot.

We breath the same air, what was in your lungs, will be in mine and vice versa; it has been in lungs of many animals, it was breathed out by trees.

We drink the water that has been recycled by nature so many times: ocean, clouds, rain, rivers, inside the bodies of living creature, soil, it is hard to find something on Earth that does not have water in it. We breath it, we drink it we perspire, we urinate.  I read somewhere that with probability of 100% everyone of us drunk at least one drop of water that went through a urinary track of a dinosaur.

We eat, digest, and absorb elements from the food we eat to build our bodies. Those formed part of another living organism before we ate it. This is the cycle of life.

Or body is a collection of cells. We have more bacteria in us then we have our own cells (that was an WOW moment for me, when I heard this) and without these bacteria our body cannot function.  We are so connected to these bacteria that when we kill them, we get sick and to get better, we have to reintroduce then into our body.  How dumb is our war on germs, without which we will die.

And so on.  Anything that exists  – co-exists. Nothing can survive in isolation.

I remember a guy who made a statement “I did not get onto the top of food chain to give up meat”.  My reply was: “well this is what you bed bug thinks as well.

Another analogy for oneness.

People say how can we be one; we are obviously separate. I am different form you, from others.

I look at my hand and see 5 fingers: each one obviously separate, different form each other, there is no way I could get them mixed up, yet they form one hand.  I am aware of all the organs that form my one body. There are many of them; there is a clear difference between them: brain, heart, skin, kidneys, to name a few.  We can easily separate them. Yet they form one body.

Well here is my attempt

We breath the same air, what was in you lungs will be in mine and vice versa; it has been in lungs of many animals it was breathed out by trees.  We drink the water that has been recycled by nature so many times: ocean, clouds, rain, rivers, inside the bodies of living creature, soil, it is hard to find something on Earth that does not have water in it. And the water molecules are being exchanged all the time. We breath it, we drink it, we perspire, we urinate.  I read somewhere that with probability of 100% everyone of us drunk at least one drop of water that went through a urinary track of a dinosaur.

We eat, digest and absorb elements of the food to build our bodies. Those formed part of another living organism before we ate it. This is the cycle of life.

Words, thought, consciousness. What creates our reality?

You walk through the street mindful that you may be attacked.  You are ready for it.  How are you ready?  Well you are prepared to attack.  Attack is the best defense. That is a common belief.  What happens then is that you smell of fear, you smell of aggression. And; you create an attack.  That is what is on you mind. Most people actually do what you expect them to do.  Additionally the universe or God is like a jinni “your wish is my command”.  What is on your mind sooner or later will manifest itself in your life.

More and more people are getting aware of this. Many thinkers/teachers know this; but they will tell you that these are words that drive the universe.  I do not think so.  It amazes me when people get so much caught up in words. It is not the words; it is the meaning we give them, the internal picture and intensity of emotion that creates our world.

I mix up words and was told it is not mixing up it is my subconscious talking.  Why do they assume that my subconscious speaks English??  I do not believe it speaks any language.  Consciousness language is wordless.  Why do you think spiritual gurus say the truth is beyond words; I cannot tell you; you have to experience it.

Words are linear; they describe just one aspect of our perceived reality. It takes a long time to draw picture in words. Life is instant.  I look at a valley and see all trees, their leaves and brunches, birds flying, clouds moving; you hear the wind and the birds; you smell the fresh air; all at the same time; is takes a second and how long would it take me to describe this valley. Also words bring into the mind of a listener their experiences their mental models, not the ones of the speaker.

As read these words describing my valley you create an image of a valley into your mind, but this is based on your experience not mine.  It is not the one I was describing; you do not know my valley because words cannot desribe the smell of my valley,  the song of my valley, the beauty of my valley.  For you to know my valley our mind would need to connect become one with mine so you and I  feel, see, smell, touch the same thing at the same time.  At that time no words are required.

However words are needed to get us to this connection they guide us through our blindness until we find light until we find the connection between each other then they are not required anymore.  You do not need to tell yourself to breath you do it; you do not  need to tell yourself you are hungry to eat, you do not need to tell yourself you are happy just be happy.

Have you every been able to communicate with someone without words. I did. After a huge argument with my team leader (we argued the case not getting personal) telling each other what we think.  After that it was amazing we could communicate just by looking at each other.  And it was not just reading emotions or single thought.

It was an amazing feeling; a split of a second communication.

From fear to oneness

Fear, fear, fear creeping on us from every where from the moment we are born our parent just worn us do not do this, not do that, this is dangerous, it can hurt you.

You are born and go into this world with hope and trust, open heart, open mind and open arms; ready to embrace anything that comes your way.

And then you get hurt it is usually the by people closes to you. They are trying to protect you; so they hurt you; punish you.  It is for your own good; so you are safe; they say.  Safe from what? from life itself!

But you still love them. Deep inside we are all love. It is not the love between a man an a woman. It is a sense of peacefulness, contentment lack of fear. It is this bliss, the orgasm of life.

Lack of fear is the natural state we are all supposed to be in. This is what meditation can bring, this is what forgiveness can bring. This blissful feeling of being one in the full sense. One as complete; one as one with everything; one as separate; one as connected.

Fight and Hurt

My beliefs we are, that we are all part of the same consciousness; like cells in a multi-organism; and yet we fight with each other.

It looks to me like your right hand fighting with your left hand. I does not make sense. We are all one. But we cannot see it. We blame others for our behaviour; saying: “oh they did this, so he had to do this no you did not.”

There is no specific way you have to react; you are not a computer program; you have a choice.

You cannot fight evil with evil. This creates more evil.

You feel hurt; so you want to hurt someone else. You feel that you have the right to hurt them.  After all they hurt you.  However just think. According to this rule by hurting them you just granted them with the right to hurt you!

Also does hurting others really ease your pain?

And now as they are hurting, is your hurt any less; did it go away just because you hurt someone else?

You cannot pass your feelings onto someone else; all you do is create feelings in them, they are not your feelings.

Jesus got it right; turn the other chick; those without a sin should trow the first stone;  who fights by the sword dies by the sword.  There are so many so called Christians around the world but how many of them follow Jesus teaching. What do you think is more important to him, that you believe he is the son of God or that you live the way he was teaching to live in peace and love.

It is like humans cannot see the other side. All they care about is them; their feelings and they do not realise that the person on the other side is also human and they have the same feelings similar thoughts.

I cannot understand why people fight;  why they want revenge does it really help them? why do they want others to suffer? . Because they suffered? Does this ease their pain; if some one else suffers.  It is forgiveness that sooths your pain.  So why do you insist on punishing, hurting others?  OK they are hurt now.  So, they are also human and what; now they want to punish, hurt someone.  And the story goes on for centuries, millenniums on and on and on. Crazy world stupid people.

Civilasation??

What s going on? This is just madness what is around us.

The civilisation we created, the madness, we think we have a life; we created death. How many people hurt others, just because they want to help them.

Help yourself! and let others help themselves. What a crazy world. Life and death circulating together. You think they are different; they are the same. What a strange world I sometimes think I am out of this world. I look at people and do not understand; why they behave like this; why do they hurt each other; why don’t they look at what are they doing.  All the problems in this word are of our own creation. Why do we feel we need to do something. What is wrong with just being; look at the stars; look at the trees and flowers; why do something.  All we create is problems. We think we created a better life; comfort; standard of living. What a joke? Being so proud of our achievements; but what are the outcomes? We are destroying our boat; our livelihood. Valuing some growth, progress more then life. Killing each other; taking about humanity and putting knives in each other back what is going on what a crazy place

Where will it end; what is the price we are paying for our way of living?

We are calling the aboriginal culture primitive. Yet it is the longest living culture; established what 20 -70 millions years ago. Talking about sustainability; hard to beat that record. our civilisation is what 200 well say 2000 years old
